Sparkle & Order: Organizing Your Jewelry Collection
7/8/20253 min read

If you've ever spent too much time detangling necklaces, hunting for a missing earring, or wondering where that one perfect bracelet disappeared to, you're not alone. Jewelry is one of the most cherished (and often most chaotic) parts of our wardrobes. Whether you're a minimalist with a few signature pieces or a collector with a treasure trove of accessories, keeping your jewelry organized can save time, preserve the quality of your pieces, and bring a little more beauty to your daily routine.
Here’s how to bring order—and elegance—to your jewelry collection.
1. Sort by Type and Frequency
Start by laying everything out and grouping items by type: necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets, etc. Then, within those categories, consider how often you wear each piece. Everyday items should be the most accessible, while special occasion or sentimental pieces can be stored more securely.
Quick Tip: Take this opportunity to take inventory and see what needs to be cleaned! It's also a good time to evaluate some items that have gotten lost in the stash. If you haven’t worn it in over a year and it’s not sentimental, consider donating or repurposing it.
2. Prevent Tangles and Tarnish
Tangled chains and tarnished metals are common problems when jewelry is stored improperly. Use padded slots for rings, hooks for necklaces, and soft pouches or separate compartments for delicate or valuable items. Anti-tarnish strips or silica packets can help keep silver looking its best.
Quick Tip: I always keep the silica packets out of packages! I keep one in my suitcase and the extra linens box.
3. Use Vertical and Drawer Space Wisely
Don’t just think flat—think vertically! Wall-mounted organizers for long necklaces work well so that the necklaces don't get tangled up. If you prefer to keep things hidden, use drawer inserts or stackable trays to create layers of storage without creating clutter.
If you have a lot of jewelry items and need a mirror as well this option is great. It hangs with clips that go over the door so it is very renter friendly. 👉 [Shop Jewelry/mirror]
4. Display with Intention
If you love seeing your jewelry as much as wearing it, consider displaying some of your favorite pieces or your most worn items. A beautiful stand or open-top box can double as décor and keep your favorites in reach. Just make sure to keep it dust-free and avoid overexposure to light or air, which can cause damage over time.
5. Invest in the Right Jewelry Box
A high-quality jewelry box isn’t just storage—it’s protection, presentation, and peace of mind. Look for one with multiple compartments, soft linings, and thoughtful design that fits your space and your style. Whether you're traveling or tidying up your dresser, the right box keeps your jewelry safe and accessible.
My biggest issue was finding the right storage for my bracelets and cuffs. My cuffs are wide and most jewelry boxes would have compartments that are too small. I also wanted one with a drawer so I could put a tray on top and display my most worn jewelry.
